Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask Demake by BLUEamnesiac

I hate the idea of vidya gaem companies slopping together a remake with shiny new HD injected into its cheeks, but if Nintendo ever releases an updated remake of Majora’s Mask I will give them my firstborn son. You think that may sound drastic but that’s how serious I am. In the meantime, why dont we go the complete opposite direction and make Majora’s Mask look worse, as painstakingly deconstructed by DA user BLUEamnesiac in shades of trademark Game Boy Green and GB Darker Green, which strangely I find just as desirab— AND SWEET VISHNU THAT DOLL LINK GIF WHY DID YOU GUYS LET ME UPLOAD THAT WHYYYYYYYYYY

Yay, it’s done! I didn’t know what to paint so I thought I’d draw a Majora’s Mask tribute :]

Inspired by Anita Sarkeesian’s Video Game Tropes vs Women, I wanted to pitch a Zelda game where Zelda herself was the hero, rescuing a Prince Link.

Clockwork Empire is set 2,000 years after Twilight Princess, and is not a reboot, but simply another iteration in the Zelda franchise. It just so happens that in this case, Zelda is the protagonist. I’m a very big Zelda fan, and worked hard to draw from key elements in the continuity and mythos.

This concept work is meant to show that Zelda as a game protagonist can be both compelling and true to the franchise, while bringing new and dynamic game elements that go farther than being a simple gender swap.

Hope you like it!

!!!!

why can’t this be real life???

It’s strange, but the way you look right now sort of looks like this tree…
The very first time I played this game, something about this part bothered me. I didn’t know exactly how Link became a Deku scrub, but later, when you get the Goron and Zora masks, it’s a known fact that somebody had to die in order for Link to have a mask that would transform him into that character.
Later, when you get the Mask of Scents from the Deku butler, he says that you remind him of his missing son… perhaps that was where the mask came from. I don’t know what the Skull Kid did to the poor Deku scrub, but whatever it was, it must have been torturous for him to die with that look on his face.
